Sunday – C2S

Another attempt at the key part of the C2S course – namely Heartbreak Hill. Setting out from Inner West means this is no easy feat. Met Matt in the CBD who was the one that requested this course – he hasn’t run it for 5 years. I didn’t feel like it as my legs felt pretty rubbish after a solid week of Ks. 7k solo and still feeling sluggish.

Started with Matt at Hyde Park and moved East down. Another few Ks and suddenly things were a lot more enjoyable. Steady pace up HBR some 30 min later, and another 2k towards Dover Heights before deciding it was time to head home. I would say a combination of mental fatigue, a sore right hip flexor and a ‘funny’ stomach made the return journey not overly enjoyable.

Saw Matt off at Hyde Park again (10k out, 10k back) and completed the last 6k across Pyrmont and Anzac Bridge.

35k all up, 750m elevation change in 2:53.

Monday – Pyrmont

Normally I’ll do the wharves with Erika but she bailed on me. Sam came to the rescue offering an out and back in Pyrmont. This was a pretty good decision as I’ve pulled up fairly sore after the Saturday pram run, then Sunday C2S long run.

13k all up in 65 min.

I’ve retired my black New Balance Zante shoes, and replaced them with the same model in blue. This could inspire a proper wardrobe reset as we all know you need to match the visor, top and shoes.
