Saturday
Out doing laps at Drummoyne. The pool closes at 7:30am, meaning to fit in 2km I need to start by 6:45am. Not ideal but a good excuse to kick start the weekend early.

Had a sports massage in the afternoon. Second time visiting KM in Castle Cove – he is the best in the business, recommended by MC. Unfortunately he takes absolutely no prisoners and I was nearly in tears. 75min of begging him to be gentle, but no respite.

Barely made it back to the car.

Quick tennis game, a short attempt at a 3km jog then a swim was a good way to finish the afternoon. All this was a pre-cursor for a 10 course Chinese NY banquet at The Star.

Sunday
Felt obligated to bank one last long run before I taper. The walk to the door was hard enough, with essentially every leg muscle begging me to go back to bed.

Solo this time, starting out towards Balmain and basically circling the shoreline towards Birchgrove. It took about 10km for the post-massage soreness to erase. Tracked back towards Iron Cove Bridge and did a final loop of the Bay Run.

Truth is, the real intent to banking 25km was to build up a serious appetite. Brunch at Petersham with Renee and James E was the post-run recovery plan. A ravenous appetite works wonders for my ability to critique a cafe.

Finished the week off bang on 100km. Good to get the century but next week will be a lot easier.
